Why am I doing this?
Alan Rodriguez was 18 years old when he was diagnosed
The diagnosis took several months, and finally a week at All Childrens Hospital where a resident found the Keiser Fleshier Rings and figured it out.
The most shocking thing was how difficult it is to find a physician who knows how to diagnose, treat and follow a Wilsons Patient. It was even difficult to find a family doctor to have for normal things like the flu or something, most were afraid to take on a patient with Wilsons Disease.
The world show know that Wilsons Disease is treatable if diagnosed and treated properly. Patients can live a good life with proper care. And no, we are not contagious.
We are hosting a Big WOW to bring awareness to Wilson' Disease for our community and beyond.
The Wilson Disease Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation designated by the IRS. All donations are tax deductible and are being used exclusively to fund the patient registry. Donations can be made on our website at www.wilsonsdisease.org or in the right hand column.
